All you need to do is change the profile picture for the account (Game Center/Google Play or Facebook) the picture is from. Once you've done that, the game will update within seven days. 

To remove your profile picture, simply head into the game's Settings menu, and tap on the profile picture icon until it says "Profile picture hidden".
